Street style: Carlito

It's hard to miss the love relationship between Asians and European brands. We spotted Carlito, who was in a 'Gucci mood'.

fav shops all the shops on the PC Hooftstraat

really, all? well... I don't like Versace, that's past its due date. But there's no Versace shop anyhow on the PC.

simple with impact

Stylist Alex comments...

Why does this look work

If you prefer wearing clothes of famous brands, you will most likely find this outfit interesting. It can be somewhat tricky to create a stylish "head to toe" outfit from brands, as there's a fine line between "trendy" and "trashy".

What Carlito is wearing is a nice example of balancing the branded clothes within the borders of appropriateness. This is done by keeping the whole outfit in subtle and neutral colors and the silhouette is simple with very little details. So when you are to show off your new Louis or Dolce, make sure you keep it simple and classy.

Be inspired by Carlito's outfit

To all brand-lovers: personal style is not about the price tag of the clothes, but instead about creating a truly interesting and original outfit that compliments your appearance. So go ahead, be adventurous and mix&match your exclusive brand-items with the ones that come from the mass-market, vintage or even thrift stores - that can actually add a much required "edge" to the whole look.
