bucketlist #6: surprise your lover with croissants from Le Fournil de Sebastien.

Le Fournil de Sebastien. lifeinamsterdamOutside La France, the best French pastries are made right here in Amsterdam, at Le Fournil de Sebastien. After running a bakery in France for over 10 years, French Sébastien and his Dutch wife moved their oven to Amsterdam: Le Fournil de Sebastien. Besides the ‘usual’ croissants and baguettes, this bakery also makes breads from Sebastien’s region, such as Brioche Vendéenne, Préfou, Canelés de Bordeaux, Madeleines and Michettes. On Saturday mornings a whole crowd of waiting people are waiting outside. Don't be scared off, though, get your number from the machine, and hop next door to the kiosk to get your FT weekend or favourite magazine. The service is surprisingly quick, once inside,  and fresh bread is constantly baked. Also try the French marmalades, or the Prefou bread which goes well with a Bordeaux at 5 o'clock (consult best wine shops in Amsterdam).

I tried them and I am not impressed, same for all pastries. Bread with olives is good as well as baguette.
